Movement without Knee Pain after Knee Surgery

Have you ever wondered what your knees are capable of even when you have knee pain after knee surgery?

Are you afraid that you’ll never be able to get back to your former self because the knee pain is sometimes so great?

15 years ago I had those very same thoughts.  I was about to have reconstructive knee surgery on the ACL (the ligament) in my left knee.

The knee surgery ended up going very well. Dr. John Ellis from the University of Louisville sports teams gave me the news after the knee surgery. My ACL was only 30% attached on one end and Dr. Ellis also removed two pieces of meniscus. Rehab started 3 days later and I remember not even being able to lift my leg off the ground and my left leg started getting very thin from the loss of muscle.

I even doubted that my knee was ever going to get better because I still had lots of knee pain after knee surgery. The rehab helped strengthen my leg but did nothing for the tension patterns that were still in my hips and lower back that caused the knee injury to begin with.

This knee injury set me on a course in my life to travel around the world to find natural solutions to relieve my knee pain as well at the pain tension and discomfort in the rest of my body.

A lot has changed over the past 15 years. Last month I attended a martial arts seminar in Tampa, Florida and had the opportunity to move with my mentor and instructor, Vladimer Vasiliev.

Here’s a short clip of the movement that’s possible after everything my knees been through.

BTW, ignore the knife, watch the movement! 🙂

Most people in their 40’s don’t move this well without knee surgery. Imagine the possibilities of freedom and movement of your body being able to express itself like you did when you were young.

I live that life everyday and you can too.

I watched your youtube video regarding strengthening ligaments. Other than slow squats, what other body exercises can I do? I am 61 years old. I had double knee replacement in Jan.2016, revision to right knee in Oct.2016 and revision to left knee in March 2017 due to instability and loosening of prosthetic. My prognosis still is not good, since the knees continue to progressively get worse with further loosening. The surgeon has determined that my ligaments are stretched and will continue to get worse. I have been working out to strengthen muscle, but he said there was nothing to do… Read more »
