Tight Hamstrings & Mushy Butts…Are you able to touch the ground? Or maybe your toes for that matter? Does it feel like your body is really stiff from your lower back to your feet?

My Judo buddy Tony referred to this “Syndrome” as, “Banker’s Ass.”
He was referring to how flabby I was getting as a result of sitting all the time.
I thought to myself, “It hurts to move though and my whole body feels tight!”
That’s just what happened when my knee got injured.
My left hamstring tightened…
The left hip pulled up to protect the left knee…
Weight shifted over to my right leg…
Tension was unevenly distributed my lower back…
There was a “full on shit show” happening in my body.

This “pattern” happened as a result of my injury didn’t allow my glutes…
aka ASS to engage the way it’s supposed to.
Thus coming full circle on Tony’s observation of my, “Banker’s Ass.”

Just mushy, doughy and flabby…

You know shit’s getting serious if you’re 29 years old coming down with ole Banker’s Butt…

To look at it simply, the only reason that pattern was happening was because the knee hurt and essentially didn’t “feel safe.”

I couldn’t even begin to look at strengthening my mushy butt until my knee was out of pain.

That’s where to start!

I could exercise until I was blue in the face but, the fact still remained that

– My knee hurt like hell
– My lower back was like a rock
– My hamstrings were super tight

The solution
– Start getting the knee comfortable
– Relax my lower back and hips
– Keep my mindset in a good place so I didn’t go out and do something stupid to put myself back into pain the moment I started feeling better.
