Just got back from a 45 minute bike ride.
It’s the Turkey mating season so I came across 3 flocks of birds going through their mating rituals.
I never would have saw those sitting on my butt at home…
My legs felt amazing this evening!
I started biking about a month ago as the weather started to warm up.
The first day I only rode a little bit just to get my body moving and boy my legs were pretty dead after only 15 minutes.
It was like that the first few weeks as I increased my speed and distance keeping my time at the 30 minute mark.
My knees ached, primarily my left…
Thighs and lower back were very sore too.
No endurance to speak of as my lungs were just getting used to aerobic exercise after the long winter.
I look back and see a few points over the past month that could have de-railed my training.
When my left knee started bugging me
When my thighs were incredibly sore
The lower back the could have been a real bugger…
Tonight felt awesome though going up a long incline with a head wind and I can rely on my legs to work like a couple of pistons.
There’s a strength, confidence and peace of mind that comes from knowing what to do and when to do it so I can call on my legs at times like these to carry me through an great workout.
