Does pain make you crazy?

Does pain make you crazy? Irrational? Like you’re going out of your mind? Do you respond to pain by getting short, angry and pissed off?

Pain sure as hell did this to me!

When the knee pain hit, it felt like I wanted to lose my f*cking mind

Nothing calm or rational about it…

I never understood how some people could have an even composed demeanor when they were in pain.

I was NOT able to pull that off NOT even remotely…

How I acted reminded me of when I did some body work training on Maui in Hawaii for a few months.
One time, in the middle of the night I got up to get a drink of water and turned on the lights.
Roaches, at first, stunned by the brightness were trying to figure out the closest dark space to get into.

I felt the same way with my pain…
I wanted to run (figuratively) to hide from the pain just like the roaches wanted to run from the light.

Of course there was no place to go for my knee…

The more I moved the worse it felt…

– Sitting for too long make it hurt worse
– Standing for too long made it ache
– Walking was exhausting and didn’t feel any better
– Exercise was pretty much a joke

My life felt like such a miserable existence…
And then I started studying up on COMFORT.

That was the only “thing” that made a difference…
That was able to get to the “spot” that hurt…
That started getting me back into my rational mind…
Comfort starting get me thinking more clearly again, it was like a sigh of relief.

The torrent flood waters of pain that swirled around my knee radiating out to the rest of my body started to recede.
