Case for Quitting, Giving Up…Saying F*ck It!

It’s common practice with Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers to believe that strengthening the legs will eliminate knee pain.

I mean, “Use it or lose it!” Right?

The problem with that thinking is…

It’s assuming when you injured your knee.

Something suddenly got weak in your leg causing your knee pain.

Now I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t make a whole hell of a lot of sense to me!

I mean you’re doing your thing and something happens to your knee causing it to hurt.

Was your leg “weak” before you hurt your knee?

If it was, why didn’t it hurt then?

Think about…

How frustrated do you get when you try and exercise and your knee feels worse?

You don’t even feel like working out for days or even weeks afterwards while you’re recovering from the very thing that was supposed to help your knee!

It’s plain crazy-making!…maddening!

The harder you try the further from being out of knee pain you get.

Made me feel like I wanted to give up…quit…throw in the towel!

Say f*ck it!

To me it makes more sense that something tightened up to protect your knee when it got injured.

It would also make more sense to me that we need to relax what’s tight instead of strengthening.

Make it comfortable…Make sense?

I’ll explain everything on our call. I’ll lay it out and your plan will make so much sense you’ll shake your head in disbelief.
