The Pucker Factor [Revisited]

A couple of days ago I wrote about “The Pucker Factor”

Apparently I wasn’t clear enough…

That happens for me at times…

The first time I heard of “The Pucker Factor” was in a military context…

It was written by a fighter pilot that almost crashed his jet…

A real close call with the ground!

He said, “The Pucker Factor was a 10.”

I immediately envision myself flying this airplane and almost crashing…

At the same time, I’m so scared I’m squeezing my butt cheeks so tight I could probably make a diamond out of a piece of coal…

Nice visual, huh?

Anyhoo, you should be getting a better idea of what “The Pucker Factor” is…

Well…

“The Pucker Factor” goes up every time you step and your knee hurts…

I sometimes refer to it as the “Pain-Tension Loop”…

When you feel pain,

Your body tenses up…

To protect itself…

This reduces the space in the knee joint…

Irritating the nerves more…

Causing more pain…

So…

THE MORE PAIN YOU FEEL THE TIGHTER THE KNEE JOINT GETS CAUSING MORE PAIN…

This causes the joint to dehydrate, wear and become more painful with every step you take…

It’s an endless cycle…UNLESS!

You get the pressure off of the nerves and get relief in the joint…
