Why Wishing Pain Away Doesn’t Work…

Do you wish your knee pain would get better?

Or

Do you hope your knee pain will go away?

I lump “wishing” and “hoping” the pain will go away in the same category…

In both cases I never felt like either would work making my pain much better.

Personally I felt like a victim whenever I began thinking that way.

Like I was at the mercy of some unknown force causing my knee to hurt.

Thinking that way just made me feel depressed…

I’d just sit on the couch aiming the remote at the TV flipping channels with my swollen knee propped up on a pillow underneath an ice pack.

My diet was horrible and the depression just made me eat worse.

I never gained that much weight however I still felt like a slug.

Stuck between sleeping and being awake…

Like in a zombie like dream state.

I didn’t have much energy during the day or slept very well at night.

Things got desperate.

I just wanted to do something, anything to change what my knee felt like.

Some smart cookie once said,

“You can’t solve a problem at the same level the problem was created.”

That “smart cookie” was Einstein…

If I had known then what I know now,

My recovery time would have been a fraction of what it turned out to be.

In actuality, 
I found that doing the right things, 
in the right amounts, 
in the right order, 
with the right timing 
made all the difference in the world!

It’s just like baking a cake…
– The right ingredients
– In the right amounts
– In the right order
– With the right timing

Is the difference between having a great looking and great tasting cake

Or

A mess…

You just have to follow the recipe…

The tricky part is your knee “recipe” is just a little different than anyone else.

Comfort has got to be your first ingredient.

If you start with anything that causes your knee to hurt you’re not moving your self out of pain are you?

This is super simple and you may be thinking, “Well duh Bill…of course!”

I know, I know however…Have you tried it?

– takes only minutes a day to do
– you can do it anywhere when your knees start hurting
– no scheduling an appointment to get relief required
– you’ll develop a skill you can use on your knees the rest of your life

There really is no “down side” to it!
