Knee Pain Is Often the Symptom — Not the Real Problem

Most people come to me for knee pain—and that makes sense.
It’s painful, limiting, and often the thing that finally forces action.

But in many cases, the knee isn’t the real problem.
It’s simply screams the loudest!

I’m more than just a knee pain specialist! The knees drove me to study bodywork, however, I regularly work with people whose knee pain is being driven by deeper issues elsewhere in the body.

My Whole-Body Approach to Knee Pain

My work combines decades of experience helping people with knee pain with movement and tension-release principles drawn, not only from Osteopathic Principles of Strain/Counter-strain, but also from Systema, a Russian Martial Art that I have been practicing since 1999.

I don’t isolate joints. I look at how the entire body is working together—or how it’s not!

That often includes:

  • How you stand, walk, and transfer weight
  • How your hips, ribs, neck and spine move
  • Old injury patterns you’ve compensated for over years
  • Breathing patterns that quietly load tension into the joints and restrict movement

The goal isn’t to “fix” a knee or other bodypart.
The goal is to change the conditions that keep stressing it.

I Work With More Than Knees

Come see me at my Weaverville NC studio for:

  • Hip and low back issues affecting the knees
  • Foot and ankle problems that alter gait
  • Chronic stiffness and loss of range of motion
  • Repetitive-use tension from work, exercise or athletics

When the body moves better as a whole, knee pain often improves as a byproduct!
